The video is meant to be viewed with others, standing in the center of the room in a taped off box. I take survey of my skin and my body.

The images are reminders that real wounding is never really far. I survey, making documentation of wounds on my body.

My skin feels guilty is a series of miniature polaroids taken immediately after showering that are scrubbed with a citrus scented body wash. They are placed on display with a spotlight, inviting the spectator to step into an intimate viewing space. The warm yellow light glistens across the layers of soap on the film of the photographs of my skin. Erasing the photograph, blurring the image, cleansing the past.

We learn things from our mothers. 

There is a pattern and a following. 

I am feminine because I repeat what I see is feminine.
