What is included in the retainer for a boudoir session?
The retainer, or session fee, covers my time shooting & editing, plus paying the hair + makeup artist and any props needed for the set. It generally includes the access to professional stying and an empowering tarot reading to guide the session while you are getting transformed for the photoshoot.
What is the minimum investment for artwork ?
The smallest photograph framed in gold I will make is 8x10 and costs $222. A package that includes the session retainer, your HMUA, and the largest framed in gold plus one digital image is $999.
What is a flash sale ?
This is a spur of the moment discounted session sale if you book in before a certain deadline.
What is a model call or ANIMAL CALL OUT ?
No, you do not have to be a professional model to work with LAMINA Boudoir! A model call out is simply a fancy way of saying “search” for anyone who want to step in front of the lens. We work with women who are 21+.
What is a campaign ?
These are special series in the overall body of work produced under the brand, by the artist. It began as Self Portraits only but if you are karmic enough to be involved in an AIAD Campaign you sure have something to say that needs to be heard.
What if I do not want my images shared online ?
Simply say you want a confidentiality release when we talk about your contract on a consultation call. This includes a mutual agreement and non-disclosure clause in addition to the confidential model release.
What is a print release ?
Obviously, I hope you choose to purchase your images through LAMINA Boudoir and order a custom photo album but if you do purchase digitals only and want to retain the printing rights later, please ask.
Who does LAMINA serve ?
We are body positive and sex inclusive. We prefer to work with women and femme presenting clients but can and will photograph men too, although, at this time by special inquiry only. Consent is mandatory. Privacy and my safety is taken seriously.
Accessibility ?
FYI there is one flight of stairs you must climb to photo in the boudoir room. There are also steps up the front porch to enter the studio. There is a private bathroom and kitchen area for snacks/refreshments. Do not come to a shoot starving, but I will always offer you water or coffee/tea. The one criticism I get about the space is it is small. It literally feels like a witch’s cottage, down to the warm Tauren textures and vibe.
Where are you located ??
The private 1000 square foot studio is located near historic Irvington in Indianapolis INDIANA on the pleasant run parkway. Cross streets are Washington & Emerson. Exact address granted upon paid booking.
Why tarot ?
I believe that I am not only a trained photographer; I hold a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from Herron School of Art + Design, which means I can make an image. I am also an image reader - this is intuitive interpretation of the archetypes presented in the Tarot cards, I use this healing modality to tap into the nature of each individual client’s journey. I am healer and a light worker, and this is what stepping into power looks like, babes.
What is the point ?
We believe the image of You should be framed in gold and put on a pedestal to be cherished and revered. The worship of the Goddess Image we co-create is the goal. A retelling of the story of the dis-empowered female. We may have been labelled inappropriate when we were girls but through the power of color, performance, deep healing work, and artistic expression we re-write the story with confi-dance.
Who said you could do this ?
I did. I know who I am and what I came here to do. I am an agent of change and this industry needs a shake up. I was trained in fine art. I hold a degree in Art that is literally just a piece of paper that says as an Artist in this world, I get to do whatever the fuck I want to do. I was labeled pornographer in undergrad and if only the word boudoir entered the critique room, woof would I have had a different, possibly more encouraging, beginning to this career. And so now, this is what I am doing. I am your boudoir photographer.
