were I am a survivor too. She took a big breath and let out a sigh of her nerves. The anxiety she was feeling towards what she considered imperfections of her body seemed to be holding her back. There was an admission of her past. The raw emotion that poured out at the door was the first sign of her transformation on this healing journey.
Stephanie experienced a trauma that she describes as an event that took part of her soul. A piece missing. She says she has not felt the same since 2017.
After learning about her journey with weight loss surgery, I asked her to talk about the things she loves about her body, the wonderful ways it can move, and she immediately reminisced to her dancing days, and I felt the joy calling.
To be able to recognize the missing piece and then use it to alchemize pain, she joyfully danced in front of my lens allowing, Stephanie to take back her power and reclaim a part of her soul!

To Stephanie, being able to be a source of power offering a “me too” statement with a tattoo on her arm is a reclamation in and of itself. Undressing was a way for her to feel safe and loving in her own skin again. What is healing for you is natural to you, and doesn’t have to be the same as it is for somebody else.
Stephanie’s LAMINA Boudoir empowerment session included a professional hair & makeup artist, JJ the MUA, and expert styling of her entire wardrobe for the day. While getting on her beauty transformation before the photoshoot we asked the Tarot what would be helpful to know on Stephanie’s journey towards a healed more empowered being. “ Where has she been ? Stephanie’s muse session was to include four outfit changes, but she quickly revealed how much more comfortable she is in the black lace chemise compared to a lovely teal two-piece set we only caught a couple images in. Across several sets throughout the 1000 square foot private studio located in the charming and *slightly historic neighborhood in Indianapolis Indiana called Irvington, we worked extensively to get the shot in the ideal outfit. What a queen?! Are you kidding!!
A taste of champagne, the full transformation, and Stephanie embodied the grace of a dance in front of the camera! A woman who knows what she wants is willing to stand in her truth.
